The College of Innovative Education (CIE) operates under the supervision of Thammasat University, Thailand and was established by theconsensus of the University Council, ThammasatUniversity.The Thammasat University Legislative Act, B.E. 2531 has endowed the CIE with status equivalent to a faculty, department, or institute. The CIE was originally known as the‘Innovative Education Center’. In February 10, 1997, the college officially changed its name to the College of Innovative Education.

The CIE originated with a vision and desire of Thammasat University to initiate innovation in the Thai educational system, and was transformed from its original role as faculty and departments to function as a college with an emphasis on interdisciplinary education.

The CIE was established with the aim of creating and managing curricula, providing training, organizing workshops, doing research, providing social services which promote development, and advancing knowledge in the fields of Technological and Social Sciences, Humanities and other Applied Sciences.
